WWI This year is 100th anniversary for WW1 and we will all think about the soldiers that fought for us in the war to protect our country. We are all grateful for what they did so we should all think about the battles they fought for us. It was in 1914 that many men signed up to fight in the war to protect us and even people as young as 16 decided to fight. Would you do that for your country? Many people died during this war and they said this would be the war to end all wars. Only last year the last survivor of World War 1 died unfortunately and we should all think about paying respect to him and everyone else who was in the war. | WWII We can also give respect to the people in WW2 because they fought a devastating war as well which changed our nation as a country. There were many battles which were fought to protect our country for example the D-day landings which took many people’s lives gave us strength to push on after victory. Poppies are a symbol of remembrance of this war after they grew on a past battlefield. These flowers make us remember the soldiers that fought for the peace of our country. |
